Our Program
The division of Trauma and Critical Care encompasses surgical and non-operative care for patients suffering from severe injuries or illnesses.
As one of the largest and busiest trauma centers in the United States, we serve more than 4,500 trauma cases each year. We handle 25-30 consults daily, serving the bustling Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Our Approach
We are committed to delivering the best in accessible, affordable and effective active short-term care. As trauma is the leading cause of death for persons under the age of 40, our goal is to lead the way with new treatment options and research to improve patient outcomes.
We have many full-time faculty members offering constant oversight and several fellows actively engaged in the division’s day-to-day activities. In addition, we have an active trauma outreach and injury prevention program dedicated to averting critical injuries in at-risk populations such as the elderly, teens and children.
