Breast Cancer

USC Surgery / Conditions / Breast Cancer

Cancer that forms in the cells of the breast often takes the form of a lump in the breast. Other symptoms include nipple discharge, a heightened sense of smell, unusual swelling, nipple retraction and redness or peeling and flaking of the skin on your breast or nipple. Breast cancer affects one in eight women during their lifetime. The five-year survival rate for breast cancer is more than 90 percent when it is caught and treated early.
